Théodore Duret
Théodore Duret (20 January 1838 in Saintes- 16 January 1927 in Paris) was a French journalist, author and art critic. He was one of the first advocates of impressionism, and many of his writings are devoted to explaining to the 19th century public how the new trends in painting were a continuation of traditions in western painting.
